What do significant historic events, improving the digital literacy of youth, and NFTs have in common? Bee2sbe project. Bees2be is a collection of unique art pieces of Bees, created by 4 friends to celebrate the growing friendship between Lithuania and Taiwan and, by doing that, encourage technological development of Lithuanian youth in rural regions.
According to the creators, the Bees2be NFT project is a way for them to test their skills and creativity, bring some crazy cool bees to the digital world and at the same time spread some positivity to the world.
The Story behind the idea
Recently, the trade relations between Lithuania and Taiwan had been steadily growing. Two countries, similar in size, yet over 8000 kilometres apart, found support and possibilities in each other. Growing relations and undeniable understanding of each other’s situations captivated the whole world and encouraged them to closely follow the developments of the deepening alliance.
To celebrate this historic friendship, the team created NFTs that perfectly represent the beauty, work, and community mindset between these two countries – a hive of unique little bees. Yet the creators decided that simply putting art into the world was not enough – it had to have meaning.
Supporting digital literacy
While parts of Lithuania are well technologically developed, for example, the capital city of Vilnius, others still struggle to offer much-needed education and possibilities for young people. Creators believe that there’s a way to change that.
A large part of this NFT project will be dedicated to providing much-needed equipment as well as training for children in regions to encourage digital literacy and technological development.
What’s next for the project?
According to the creators, the Bees2be project is just the beginning. Once 100% of NFT’s sell-out, the next phase begins. Part of the plan is to improve youth computer literacy in rural Lithuanian regions. From the moment they reach 50% of NFTs sold, they will begin providing equipment and training for talented kids who will be learning more about digital opportunities, coding and, of course, NFTs. As part of the program, children will be creating original NFTs which will be available after Bees2be sold out.
NFTs will be created on Solana, the world’s most performant blockchain, encouraging children to pay more attention to eco-friendly practices even while focusing on digital literacy.
