They say it stood there long before anyone settled in the region. They say it was built by the Indians. They say the same people who built the Pharoah's Tombs in Egypt were involved.

They are all LIARS.. Swindlers.. Crooks and cretins.. I tell you I know who built it. I tell you why it was built near this cursed lake. Near this body of water that has no beginning or an end. I tell you it was built by HIM.

That is the only logical explanation to this hell..

Authority and its companion piece Merged with Authority are two of my Felix Nussbaum based works. Both pieces are essentially blends of two or more of Nussbaum's paintings with additional editing following the mergers.

I seldom disclose themes but these two works had a definite common theme that I would like to divulge. Both images refer to the police as the authority figure. In Authority, Nussbaum's father cautiously evades authority. In the latter one, he manages a tentative coexistence.

As The Plane Glides over The Mountains of Anatolia, from the perspective of the engine, overlooking rolling hills, rivers and farmland in between, bordered by the blue skies.. In recognition of the importance of freedom, beauty and life..
