The choice of todays #Toomal of the day was quite easy. I was just reading 2 polar bear bedtime stories with my 2-year-old boy. For interessted German parrents, have a look at https://www.thalia.de/shop/home/artikeldetails/A1019456682 – Big recommendation!
For all others: You know the game 🙂 Here are some facts on polar bears, you might not have known by now:
- Polar bears are the only bear species to be considered marine mammals.
- The are actually black, not white.
- Less than 2% of polar bears hunts are successful.
- Biggest threat for polar bears is climate change – they are classified vulnerable by IUCN and there are approximately 22,000–31,000 polar bears left living in the wild today.
- Grizzly-Polar Bear hybrids exist.
- Polar bears are the largest land carnivore in the world.
- They can sniff out prey from up to 16km away.
- At birth, the cubs are only around 30cm long and weigh around half a kg.
There are many jokes on polar bears, here are some of my favourites:
How does a polar bear catch fish? With his bear hands.
Why was the polar bear so silent? His lips were seal-ed.
Why are polar bears so popular at parties? They can easily break the ice.
Last but definetly not least, I want to raise your attention to an initiative of the WWF to help potect polar bears and does it not sound really breathtaking to adopt a polar bear? If you think so, please have a look at https://support.wwf.org.uk/adopt-a-polar-bear.
I thank you very much for your attention! If you want to support me and my work, please have a look at the complete collection on opensea, leave some likes or follow me on twitter 🙂
All the best to you!
