Description

Lifting heavy (1 hr gym) is great for vanity and strength, but for metabolic health and pure longevity, Zone 2 cardio is my absolute non-negotiable. This refers to exercising at an intensity where you can maintain a conversation but it feels slightly strained (approx. 60-70% of max heart rate). I do this for 45 minutes every single morning. Why? Because it builds the number and efficiency of your mitochondria—the power plants of your cells. It trains your body to burn fat as its primary fuel source instead of glycogen. In a world where everyone is obsessed with high-intensity intervals (HIIT), Zone 2 is the unsexy, boring work that actually builds the engine. It clears my mind before the workday starts and creates a massive base of aerobic capacity that allows me to recover faster from high-stress business situations.
